I have had a passion for drawing and painting for as long as I can remember, as a child I always had a sketch pad and pencil in my hand to keep me occupied. I gained an art scholarship to Clayesmore School in 1997; where I took art GCSE and A-Level. After leaving school I decided not to study art any further as I came to my own conclusion that it was not something that I wanted to be taught but something that I wanted to progress at naturally on my own, in my spare time as a hobby.
I took a couple of years out in 2002-2004 and moved to France. To try and earn a little bit of money I painted pictures of the local area and sold them to passing tourists by exhibiting them in the local cafe and souvenir shop. It felt great to sell my first painting and to know that it was going all the way to America! From then I took regular commissions to paint peoples holiday homes.
In 2004 I moved back to Dorset in the UK as it was time to get a "proper job". I am now a full time fitness instructor and still keep the painting as a hobby. I held an exhibition at Shaftesbury Arts Centre in 2007 and take commissions.
I enjoy working in pastel, acrylic and watercolour, I like to mix media and love working with vibrant colours. The subjects I paint include animals, buildings and portraits.
