Artist Joanna Lawrence

Having studied art at foundation level I went on to an academic degree in Psychology and theology and only recently returned to painting. I have sold portraits in acrylics and oils locally and worldwide. Lately I have concentrated on erotic art, producing images of sensuality with life models in my studio. My models are my friends rather than professional models which I think gives my work a relaxed and intimate feeling. I work mainly in oils but also sell some of my sketches and pastel work. I displayed my erotic paintings at the Erotica 09 exhibition with the Guild of Erotic Artists and have personal exhibitions planned for this year. I exhibit my erotic work seperately to my mainstream painting which comprises portrait work, flowers, landscapes and architectural studies with an atmospheric feel as well as commissioned paintings. I have a sketchbook and camera with me at all times for details that catch my eye.
