Artist Joanna Butler

In 2005 I graduated from the University of Wales Institute Cardiff with a BA hons in Fine Art. My work is always influenced by light and colour and much of my recent work has been focused around sunsets. After a years travelling I have been filled with inspiration for my work, and am currently working on a series of paintings inspired by my time in Thailand, a country full of vibrancy and colour. I work primarily from photos and memory, mostly in oils using thin layers of paint. My work has been involved in several exhibitions in Cardiff and I regularly display my work in local Galleries, Cafes and Bars. For the last few years I have been selling my work online and in 2006 took part in an exhibition at the Ideal Home Show. I also work on a commission basis and have completed several commissions including portraits and pet portraits.
