Hello. I am an artist and designer in my spare time. I find painting therapeutic, but it is also another form of communication for me which lets me express myself through various chosen themes, moods, colours and textures. I have always been interested in Art and enjoy being creative. Art, English and Textiles were my favourite subjects at school. Once I had left School, I completed a BTEC National Diploma in Art and Design, A Level in Art and then gained a BA(HONS) Degree in Textiles and Surface Pattern Design.
Whilst working in non creative jobs I have also worked freelance for a Greetings card agent and then a textile company at home. However I then decided to sell my own work and started painting pictures to sell at craftfairs, shops and have taken commissions.
I gain inspiration from memories, the countryside, poetry, photographs I have taken and moods or feelings at that particular moment in time. I usually use Acrylic but open to using all media such as Gouache, oil, collage, pastel and watercolour.
Painting not only records my thoughts, it is also a chance to escape into another world and I hope to paint full time one day.
