Artist John Dallas

I developed a keen interest in drawing and painting whilst working as a professional opera singer and teacher. Having studied with the Open College of the Arts (Drawing in Colour, Painting One and Two and Painting in Watercolour) I began to exhibit my work. My current works are mostly in acrylic on canvas and although inspired by the Scottish landscape and culture, tend towards the abstract. I have occasionally taken portrait commissions, working from photographs, but my abiding passion is the landscape and the keen sense of spirituality which can be invoked by the memory of a place or event.
