Artist Johnny Kitt

I studied art at Sheffield University gaining a first. I specialised in Abstract although became fascinated with Cubism. I was fortunate enough to sell my University exhibited work, primarily because at the time it paid for my previous few years of University life. Following a trip to India I saw such emotion and rawness on peoples' faces often as they begged in the street that I wanted to emulate that " Look" that "Feel" . I wanted to capture the very moment of pain, of anger, of jealousy of rage. Initially I used photography , but felt this couldnt break down the subject enough. I picked up my brushes and wanted to strip an image down to its rawness , almost like the cubists had done. My idea was to capture the moment be it an incident or " That Look" I want people to wonder what happened next or ask why. 23/09/09 Just had a booking to paint 6 canvasses for a New York Client.
