I initially trained as an illustrator, first at Paier College of Art and then gained a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art. I spent several years as a graphic designer, moving from drawing board to computer.
Now, I am starting over, reverting to my original name and signature, and to my original reason for becoming a professional artist. I have let go of that mouse and picked up my pencils and paintbrushes!
I am most inspired by the ordinary: The beauty and underlying symbolism of the most mundane of objects and landscapes are my motivation. Form, colour, and striking lighting can be found everywhere: in a corner of the kitchen or in a remote corner of the world. I have been influenced by the painterly brushstrokes of Morandi and Sargent, as well as the exquisite draughtsmanship of Durer.
I now work out of a small studio in Cambridgeshire.Artgallery rating
