Kim Pragnell

Although apparently related to Pierre Bonnard, my art experience has been largely influenced by the work of the late 19th, early 20th century painters. The ability to observe, investigate and draw has been the foundation of all my work, with a firm Ruskin-type belief that drawing is the cornerstone of art, to communicate through the use of line and tone those essential elements that make being an artist a delight and priviledge. Early on in my career, I became very interested in seascapes and landscapes, using the influenece of my time in the Royal Navy and my rural existence once I left. I am a watercolour painter, with my own unique way of using the medium, as you can see from the paintings for sale. I occasionally use oils, but I find the medium less immediate. Of course, I am flexible as to which medium to use, subject to the desires of the client.
