Kirsty Marie Pettengell

Artist Kirsty Marie PettengellHi my name is Kirsty Marie Pettengell. I have always had a passion for art and design since a early age, now that I am older I finding avenues that I would like to take my art work into. I graduated in 2008 in BA HONS Illustration and since I have worked on commission based work and have had my illustrations shown in a fashion and contemporary art books. At current, I am studying to be a teaching assistant in secondary and would like to contribute my skills further for a PGCE in art and design. Here on this site I am advertising my Life Drawings that I have created and collected over the few years whilst at college. I believe now I am ready to part from them and hope my customers will be very pleased with their purchase. Creating large pieces where I am able to express, is therapeutic and satisfying. In college in 2003 I studied BTEC FINE ART ND where I completed the course over a series of modules. I was able to be very free with my work and explore avenues with a variety of mediums. I am able to see a difference over the years as to how my art work has developed through university, personality and how I have become more controlled with my art work. My modules at college included textiles where I explored batik, different forms of stitch, felt making and surface pattern. Today I carry on my screen-printing which I use in other forms of my art work and enjoy very much. Also on the course I did Photography which is another big interest of mine, Electronic Art, Contextual Studies, Graphics, Ceramics, Life Drawing (of course), 3D media and Fine art. My BTEC put me in a good direction for my future within Art & Design. From college I went to Glyndwr University in Wrexham where I studied BA HONS General Illustration. It was here my career as a part time illustrator developed. At our final degree show in Islington London, I was picked up by a few publishing houses. Thank you for time
