Artist Lee Herring

Since graduating in Fine Art from the University Of Chester in 2008 I have moved back to the North East, where I am painting continuously in a thriving studio environment. My main interests in art lie within the painting discipline and I was awarded the University Prize for Fine Art due to consistently producing a high standard of work throughout my three year course. I have previously experimented on a more abstract basis but feel this latest series re-evaluates impressionisms place in modern society. It combines my interest of incorporating mixed tones and shades whilst experimenting with modifying the traditions of painting. I apply the paint with generic tools and implements; wallpaper scrapers, trowels... I have exhibited extensively throughout the UK, exhibiting in the NOVAS CUC, Liverpool in the European Capital of Culture, Bristol, Newcastle, Whitby and currently at the Wey Gallery in Surrey.
