Bedfordshire-based artist Lee McConville, a former fashion designer, paints those moments in our lives when the look in our eyes says it all.
Using a variety of mediums, usually acrylic, she portrays people in situations that we are all familiar with to some degree.
She has exhibited in galleries throughout Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Liverpool, with a solo exhibition at Blackfriars Art Centre, Boston, Lincolnshire.
Her work was selected and exhibited at the Bankside Gallery, Southbank, London in April 2007 and April 2008.
She says: "Essentially an intuitive painter, I respond to texture, colour and mood. Most of my work is from my imagination, half remembered images, people I have seen in a world that sometimes seems to border on farce.
Currently, I am exploring the darker side of fairy tales and childhood stories."Artgallery rating
