I took up watercolour painting seriously in 1986, but painting and sketching had interested me from a young age and a sketch book always accompanied me on travels to Europe as a student and on holiday. I studied German and French at Exeter University after which I trained to become a teacher and taught Modern Languages for 4 years before leaving full time employment to have children.
I first exhibited my watercolours at Henley-on-Thames in 1987 after which my love for painting soon became a full time career. I have since since sold my paintings at galleries, exhibitions and craft shows throughout Britain, and more recently from my website. Numerous commissions include a calendar for the Berkshire Library Service and a series of paintings for the Sultan of Oman
I also ran a successful picture framing business in Maidenhead for nearly 20 years.
In 2009 my husband and I moved to France, where we run chambres d'hotes and painting classes from our house in the foothills of the Pyrenees.
