I was born in 1950 in the former USSR and studied in Moscow. Originally a musician, I turned to painting as a way of salvation in the late 1980s, at the time of Perestroika, during mass unemployment and general uncertainty. It was a chance to regain my individuality, personal freedom and creative fulfillment. I have begun by painting abstract in oil and acrylic, using vibrant colours and bold contours to escape the grey reality of post-Soviet life. In the early 1990s I turned to making delicate exquisite jewellery from Fine Bone China which is now in private collections in Spain, Italy and USA.
Since 1994, I have lived in UK (London and Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex). I now paint watercolour and oil pieces of my favourite seaside in Westcliff and Southend as well as abstract art. Between 1994 and now my works have showcased at various galleries and art fairs throughout London.
