I was born in Suffolk, England in 1981 and grew up there. I recieved an A* in O level art and first began exhibiting and selling works (primarily linocuts and screenprints) at the
age of 15 in regional shows. I moved to east London in 2002 where I was first exposed to the street art and small galleries in and around Shoreditch and Mile End, as well as galleries such as the Tate Modern. It was these influences such as the strong impact of flat planes of colour found in street art and pop culture and a love of modernist images which blur the line between abstraction and representation that inspired me to take my work in a different direction. When creating a work I use minimal pre-planning and work quickly directly onto canvas and as such my works represent a kind visual record of fleeting unconcious desires and thoughts.
