Artist Lisa Ingrey

I trained at Parsons School of Design in New York City and University of the Arts, London. I was born in Lincolnshire and spent most of my working life living and working in New York City and London. Initially, I worked in theatre,but after moving back to Lincolnshire in 2003, I returned to painting full time. Painting is a great passion of mine. I love the way I feel when I am painting in my studio. Its like entering another world. I see all of my paintings as snapshots of a moment in time,be it past or present. I work in a variety of media, from oil, acrylic and mixed media. In my landscapes, I love the soft, sensual, fluid layers of oil paint and glazes. I have no interest in realism.Instead I use the complexity of colour,infused with a deep passion for nature, to convey the spirit of an imagined landscape. My abstract work is expressionist by nature,and demands a physical and emotional participation with the painting itself.Each piece has a variety of textural elements,offering something new and perhaps previously unnoticed. My work has sold to many corporate clients and can be found in private collections in the UK,Europe and United States of America. I hope you enjoy looking at my work.
