My name is Lucas Hales, I'm 22years old, and I'm young artist looking to turn my hobby into my vocation.
My passion for art was discovered at a very young age - the first time held a pencil. My school life was centred around the subject, and so naturally I proceeded to further education and continued my studies at Bournemouth Arts Institute, where I obtained a National Diploma in Fine Art.
I have worked using various media, although my preferred are ball-point/ biro pens and pencils. Sounds simple, but I favour the level of detail and shading that can be achieved using these, which is so often underestimated. My portfolio comprises mainly of detailed fantasy themed illustrations, (usually in monochrome, grey-scale or black and white due to the media used).
I have sold a number of my artworks as tattoo designs, mainly because of their popularity and high demand. I have also sold a small number of personal pieces that I've created on request.
I do feel I have a distinct style in my drawings, however I am familiar with using a wide variety of different techniques, styles and media, and so can create artwork to a particular specification if required (eg portrait or still life drawing/painting from a photograph).
