My work has always been varied, using different mediums and surfaces, from painting on to terracotta plant pots to making small plaster of paris models. As I have matured as an artist I have started to concentrate on creating more realistic images and moving away from craft, although whilst at university I worked with clay and wood and found this very rewarding. I try to keep the decorative aspect of my personality saited by designing and creating handbags and jewelry!
My personal work is mainly painted from my own photographs of flowers and animals, drawing inspiration from our garden and visits to RHS Wisley. In 2003 I returned to education and achieved an Honours Degree in Fine Art at Chichester University. Since graduating I have started painting with oils, a medium which I love, the richness of colour and fluidity of the paint continues to amaze and excite me. I have continued to work using many different mediums loving mixing dry and wet such as chalk pastels and watercolours, often looking at the subject before deciding which medium to use. At the moment portraits have become my main stay, working on people and pets alike. I really enjoy perfecting my techniques for the portraits feeling that with each finished piece that my style improves. The next exhibition that my work will be featured in is the Chertsey Artists summer exhibition in Windsor Street Chertsey Surrey, feel free to come and visit. I am currently a member of two local art groups regularly exhibiting and selling my work. Artgallery rating
