 Living on the Fylde Coast and close to the Lake District has given me the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the land, sky, mountains and sea of this area, many of my paintings are directly inspired by these views, concentrating on the atmosphere, observing the intensity of colour and light at sunrise and sunset, translating my emotional response onto paper, giving the viewer an insight into my unique interpretation of the landscape, and a sense of my own personal connection with the subject.
I studied watercolour and charcoal drawing at Blackpool and the Fylde College and more recently was introduced and taught the art of painting with ink by George Jones.
