I have always loved drawing and Painting from a very early age, this was developed during Secondary school. When i left school in 1976 it was with several CSE's also O levels in both Art and Biology.
My first job was working as an Animal Keeper at Bristol Zoo, where i gained much experience and insight into many of the Animals characteristics, habits and behaviour.
I did many scetches and drawings and took lots of photographs when i had the opportunities. I also travel around the UK and Europe visiting other Zoos and private collections.
It was while working at the Zoo in the 1970's and 80's that i had many of my drawings published, in the "Ratel" magazine for "ABWAK" ( "Association of British Wild Animal Keepers".)
I took a course at Filton College in the late 1990's and acheived an A level qualification. I then went on to do several OCN & advanced painting courses at the Bristol School of Art, next to the RWA, where i started showing some of my paintings at Queens road, Bristol.
In May 2006 I had my first solo exhibition in the Folk House, Bristol, running for 5 weeks. This generated much interested at the time
and i found myself being interviewed for local Radio and TV, also there was a 4 page article on my paintings in the Bristol Evening Posts Weekend Magazine on May 6th 2006. Some of my work has been shown in other Exhibitions around Bristol.
I had another Exhibition running through March into April 2008. Then another one n Burnham on sea during October 2008
I have since then exhibited in Bristol and Burnham on Sea 2 or 3 times a year.
Most of my early work was of Animals, from life photos and sketches
i do also take a lot of inspiration now from walking along the beaches and in the beautiful Somerset countryside.
I sell my Original paintings, they range in sizes and styles, and subjects,
I also sell prints (some in linited edition) and cards.
I have had a few paintings commissioned by different people, some in the USA.
