Artist Mark Snowdon

I live in North Yorkshire and enjoy and specialise in pictorial landscape photography. I work exclusively in monochrome using medium format cameras, including pinhole and box brownies. My preferred subject is the English landscape with the Lake District, West Cornwall and North Yorkshire being favourite locations. Light quality is particularly important and I favour fog, mist and the light of pre dawn. I enjoy making lith prints, cyanotypes and traditional silver gelatine prints. My photographs have been published in various books and have been used by Ilford for publicity purposes. I am an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society. All my photographs are produced in the darkroom using the finest fibre based papers and are processed and toned to archival standards.
