Born in Salford in the early 60’s then moved to Cheshire country side at an early age I have always had love for art. Self taught, so I have made more mistakes than I care to mention. Having spent 15 years in the armed forces my painting took a back seat, upon leaving I had more time on my hands to develop a style I enjoy. In the early 90’s I took up painting on a regular basis and initially sold my works to family and friends, and after a short period many work colleagues bought works, and regular commissions started coming in for family portraits and the occasional pet portrait. Over the last couple of years I have moved my style towards pop art, but in a thickly painted manner, mainly to attempt to make them look different from the normal pop art paintings, my hero is Caravaggio and I have painted numerous portraits and indeed attempted to paint the great master in the past using his dark moody style.
I have displayed my works in Ireland, Germany and England, the bottom line for me is I hope people enjoy my work as much as I have had painting them.
