I started working in the art industry at an early age of 14 in my local gallery as an assistant and picture framer. This was a great experience as I was developing my skills as an artist and experimenting with different areas in art.
After my GCSEs I studied a National Diploma in Art & Design at Long Road Sixth Form College in Cambridge, which developed my work even further, but soon became aware that my work was dramatically changing as I could see a definite style emerging as I became more focused on landscapes.
I base my work on the East Anglia region focusing on the relation between the sky and land by creating dramatic skies, simple compositions and the use of colour to end up with a piece which is unique and original.
In January 2008 I started working at The Curwen Studio at Chilford Hall as a studio printmaker. I work alongside artists to create original, hand drawn lithographs such as Paula Rego, Antony Micallef, Rolf Harris and Mark Hearld. I also work on a four colour reproduction technique which attracts artists like Mary Fedden and The Prince of Wales. This gives me a great opportunity to really see how artist like these work and to transfer their knowledge into my own work.
Artgallery rating Positive. This artist has received positive feedback from customers regarding reliability and excellence of artistry.
