Artist Michael Westall

Mike Westall studied at three different art colleges in the UK and achieved a BA (Hons) in Fine Art painting. Following this, he qualified as an art teacher, and after teaching for several years in England Mike moved to Cyprus in 1986. He currently teaches Art & Design and paints as often as he can. Mike has achieved several awards and has exhibited his work in many ‘one-man’ and joint exhibitions in the UK and Cyprus. He has sold his work all over the world. Currently, he is working on a series of paintings which focus on the rural aspects of Cyprus. He is fascinated with the inter-play between the light and colour found in the crystal clear skies of Cyprus. He organises his compositions with great care and is inspired by the local people and animals who occupy the space within the landscape. He paints the world he sees around him and and endeavours to represent people and scenes with passion and sensitivity.
