Artist Michela Scaramella

Artist Michela Scaramella also known as SCARA. I was born and raised in Italy. I moved to England when I was 19. Life has taken my career away from painting and I worked as a Mental Health Nurse for a number of years. I think my life experience influence the way I relate to my paintings. My work is emotive and introspective, though my subjects are of people and lanscapes around me. I use bright colours and texture to express my emotional connection with the subject. I largely use Acrylic paint but I also experiment with mixed media. I like to paint the female figure but also more abstract and conceptual subjects. I don't have a "recognised" art education but I've painted as long as I can remember. I am largely self-taught, I don't have a clue about formal "rules" and I feel blessed by my ignorance. Painting keeps me sane.
