Artist Mike Kent

Having painted for a number of years, my work has mostly centred around the landscape in which I grew up, and now live; that being the Bedfordshire, with a particular focus on Ampthill and the surrounding areas. Oil and acrylic are my preferred mediums but I also enjoy working in pastel and occasionally watercolour. Throughout my work I attempt to capture the mood of the moment and specifically how the weather conditions affect that mood. Within the confines of landscape painting I always try to experiment with bold brush strokes and even scratching the surface of the painting at times to achieve the desired effect.
