Nick lives and works as a teacher in Cambridgeshire. Much of my spare time is spent painting abstract art.
I prefer working with acrylic and metallic paint. I enjoy experimenting with textures and different paint effects. I am constantly experimenting with colour field paintings and binary contrasts: absorbent versus nonabsorbent surfaces, glazes versus opaque colour, painting wet-in-wet versus around a contour and recently tonal and atonal painting.
My inspiration comes from the sky not just sunrises and sunsets but also the colours of the night sky, planets and nebula. So much of our time is spent looking at the ground and what's built on the ground, I love looking up to find inspiration so often missed in our day to day lives.
