Although mainly self taught, Nina Harris has studied art both at school and later at college in Canterbury Kent, where she gained a BTEC National Award in Art and Design. She has also recently completed a Diploma course in Children's Book Illustration with the London Art College, for which she achieved a distinction grade.
Nina's vibrant and colourful painting style is influenced by the local scenery and interesting characters which are to be found near her seaside home on the East Kent coast of England. She can often be seen with her paintings at the Whitstable Harbour Village where she enjoys meeting the visitors and selling her work which includes original framed paintings, prints and greetings cards. Nina particularly enjoys working on individually commissioned artworks and is often asked to create paintings of local shops and restaurants, beach huts and holiday homes.
She has had a number of recent successful exhibitions in her local area, and is looking forward to more of these shows in the coming months. For 2012 Nina will be at the Whitstable Harbour Village again from May to July, and at the Fish Slab Gallery Whitstable from 23rd to 30th October.
