For as long as I can remember I have been drawing and painting. I studied Fine Art at university where I focused on figurative painting, mainly nudes and portraiture. During my time at university I was able to experiment with different styles and media and it was here I began to develop my realistic painting style which developed in the years that followed. After university I continued to perfect my technique, mainly working in acrylic on Illustration board, producing erotic, fantasy and pin-up works which stemmed from my love of Illustrators such as Hajime Sorayama, Boris Vallejo and Alberto Vargas.
In recent years I have expanded my subject matter, including wildlife which is the area where I have felt most comfortable and which I now devote most of my time. Living in the country is perfect for collecting source material and has given me the inspiration to develop my wildlife art. I recently traveled to India in order to obtain source material for more exotic pieces and am currently planning a trip to Africa. I also use local wildlife parks as a source of reference, sketching and using photography to collect as much information as I can in order to create realistic paintings. I still work predominantly in acrylic paint but also produce works in oil and graphite. Current wildlife artists which inspire and influence me include Alan Hunt, Daniel Smith and Colin Bogle.
