| I am a self taught artist and from an early age I had an interest in art. When I was about 5 years old when I use to draw the ships on the back of match boxes.
I won my first competition at 13 then at 15 I started to use acrylics but found I was no good with colour. I took a job plastering and loved it; a few years went by without doing any art then at 26 I decided to do a bit of drawing. I was stunned with what I produced. It was another 11 years before I took an interest in art again.
Then I took a few months off work and started to draw again, my first picture was something to be desired my next picture was of Britney Spears and I produced a nice picture of her and I have not stopped since.
I enjoy drawing pop and movie icons and drawing animals to which I have a good collection of both now. Each one of my pictures takes many hours to complete, all my pictures are produced with 0.3- 0.5 and 0.7mm graphite leads so that the detail is a lot better.
I am a member of a local art group were I live and have been showing my work for 3 years now. I have been entering competitions for the last 2 years and I have won 4 very good awards in this time, 2 awards in 2006 then 2 more in 2007.
I would like to learn about colour in the future and move on to pastels then oils. Thank you for spending the time to look at my work and i hope you get as much enjoyment viewing them as I have drawing them. |
