My life took some unexpected turns. I decided to leave London mainly because I needed to be in a more natural environment. I came to find city life increasingly claustrophobic. I never lost my love of and need for art. It's a strange thing that just doesn't go away. I have tried many forms of two and three dimensional art and have even put quite a lot of effort into creating Bonsai in the past.
I trained as an Occupational Therapist and Qualified in 1992. This has given me a very different focus on life and broadened my experience and knowledge enormously.
The 1990's, saw a rekindled interest in painting. I continued to make small ceramic sculpture, mainly figures and animals and painted landscapes in watercolor most of which I gave away.
Current artistic interest: Landscape Painting; I am interested in the practice of Plein Air painting as a reference for works in the studio.
Photography; mainly landscape and macro studies.
Artistic inspiration; the English Landscape painters; Cotman, Girtin Turner, Constable. Samuel Palmer. Many 20th century painters and sculptors.
Contemporary painters, Eric Merrell, Jeremy Lipking, Julian Merrow-Smith.
