Paul Stephens

Paul comes from an artistic background. From an early age he was influenced by his Father, who designed the famous Christmas displays for ‘Selfridges’ during the 1950’s -1960’s. During the 1980’s, Paul started painting in oils. Where he had success being commissioned by the ‘Patricia Gallery’ in Boca Raton, Florida, U.S.A. The gallery wanted big paintings (some measuring as large as 8ft x 6ft) for their clientele who owned villa’s in Miami. In the mid 1990’s personal tragedy stuck, followed by an injury that prevented Paul from painting. However this was not to be the end of Paul’s painting career. In 2007 Paul discovered chalk and oil pastels which allowed him to start painting again. His pastel painting ‘All Covered Up, Weymouth’ was selected by the Royal West of England Academy. In 2008, ‘Twilight St Ives’ was exhibited at the Royal West of England Academy, 156 Autumn exhibition 2008. Paul is currently exhibiting at the Sadler Street Gallery in Wells.
