I was born in and still work in, London as an Art Director for a marketing & ad agency. I received a BA Honours in Graphic Design at Canterbury Colege of Art in Kent and now live in Herne bay, near Whitstable on north Kent's coastline. My 'day job' as a creative involves what they call in the trade 'scamping', a basic form of sketching designed to convey an idea or ad simply and quickly. During my professional career, which spans over 20 years, my claim to fame is having re-designed the Monopoly box logo to include 'Mr Moneybags' (still there to this day) and having an award-winning cartoon featured on London's underground and in The Evening Standard. Painting-wise, I have been successful in selling via local exhibitions in Kent and sell a lot of my humorous work as postcards in Whitstable. During a recent show at The Horsebridge Centre & Gallery, Whitstable, I sold 13 out of a potential 15 paintings. A new exhibition is on soon at the same venue from in Spring 2012. |
