I have over twenty five years experience as an artist and have a degree in fine art and design technology.I have achived some sucess with the sale of my works which are frequently exhibited locally.
I am a painter of mainly landscape and coastal scenes in which I try to convey an atmospheric content. In my travels both here and on the continent I portray the surrounding countryside in what I call my (summer works). Akin to these I also produce my (winter works) which include many still life and architectural scenes. The medium I use most frequently is oil paint but I also value the expressive quality of pastels particularly in the small landscapes I create. The vale of York with its superb light quality as well as the north Yorkshire moors for its rugged beauty are favorite subjects of mine. A recent trip to Venice has proved a pivotal point in my development and resulted in a collection of views of the effects of colour and light on this architectural jewel.
