My name is Hingis. I am a painter, major in painting (oil/ acrylic/ pastel/ ink) based in Southampton and Newcastle, England. I completed my MA Fine Art with commendation in Northumbria University at Newcastle UK 2010. “My paintings are visual stories. I am inspired by big skies, wide open spaces and life experiences. What you see is my temperament and abstract translations.” Painting is my way of translating the relationships of form, light and colours into a new visual experience. As a landscape painter, my paintings are not about representing a place as it really is, but more a feeling of being in that place. Sometimes, these spatial landscapes are not from my direct experience, yet they are places I familiar with or come from a deep place within me. I work from the inside out -- from a “memory” of something never experienced.
