I have always been passionate about art and I have long admired the artist Georgia O'Keefe which is probably why I use mainly acrylics on canvas as she did and find flowers a great muse. Georgia O’Keefe was a women of great mystery and elegance much like Audrey Hepburn another strong iconic women who greatly inspires me with vintage style. I also enjoy including retro elements in my work and feel I often have a David Hockney influence in my paintings.
I studied design at Leeds University and particularly became interested in Fashion. I like to take beautiful gowns by designers such as John Galliano and use the folds in the fabric to create silhouettes and contrast in shading which I can transfer into a painting. I hope to be able to pull the drama, vivid colours and delicate details from the ever changing world of fashion and transfer these onto a canvas so I can bring this beauty to your homes. If nothing else I hope you have enjoyed viewing my paintings today and seen a little insight into the world as I see it.
