 Appropriation in my drawing work is mostly expressed through collage but I find I am most happiest when drawing, as I believe the line is truly the purest thing in artistic expression. Artists I greatly admire are Dürer, Piranesi, artists during the renaissance, Blake, Goya, Hockney, Bosch, Schiele, Freud and many others that have ignited a moment of inspiration for me. I never really had the patience to paint but I feel along the way I have experimented with several mediums that require equal amount of patience one needs with paint. I feel mediums such as felt tip are underestimated so I began to explore the use of them in drawing human figures and I felt great pleasure in expressing the quality of each individual line to make up the image, it almost felt like the technique for weaving. What I enjoy the most is detail and a play of negative spaces, as in most of my work I like to give the spectator the freedom to fill in the void.
