Artist Richard Taylor

I have been dabbling in art since childhood. In my mid twenties I attended evening classes studying the medium of watercolours. My main interest at this time was combining pen and ink with watercolour. After a trip to France in 1998 I became interested in abstract and modern art. I then turned my focus to oil paint, where I came to love the depth and richness it provides. Since then I have enjoyed teaching myself different techniques to gain the most from colour.
Living in Cornwall, inspiration is never far away; with the changing colours of the coastline, fields and trees throughout the seasons. However, I am mostly inspired by the colours themselves, and have even been known to do a painting in creams and reds after eating cherry yoghurt!
