Artist Richard Williams

Richard Williams began his art career using pastels and moved on to acrylics before experimenting with screen printing, the method he currently prefers. He discovered that screen printing using hand-cut stencils requires a simplified, more elemental approach to image making, with an emphasis on shape rather than fine detail. Richard's subjects cover a wide range, including floral, figurative and landscape. One of the attractions of producing limited editions is that each hand-pulled print is slightly different and has its own character. Richard makes his own printing frames and prints on quality, acid-free paper. He has sold examples of his work via outlets in and around his home county, Shropshire, and completed commissions for several clients.
