I have studied art all the way through compulsory schooling, through optional stages at GCSE, continued into A-Level and following that achieved a BA (Hons) Degree in Contemporary Creative Practice (Art and Design renamed). Consistently high grades throughout, using different mediums, has helped build a real passion for the production of artwork mainly focusing on Surrealism, Cubism, Abstract and generally expressive pieces.
A former A-Level art teacher of mine once drilled a specific 'way of thinking' into myself and my fellow students. 'When producing artwork, especially expressive pieces, there is no such thing as a mistake - every stroke of the brush and every unintended spill of paint is an additional route on the road to an original piece'. I follow this theory throughout the production of a majority of my work, believing it is the best possible way to put your mind/thoughts onto paper, canvas, or any materials you use.
Since graduating I have taken different routes in my life so far, but creating artwork in my spare time will never be a passion I will lose.
Thus far I have expressively created a number of pieces (mainly oil or acrylic on canvas), and their popularity amongst potential and existing buyers seems to be at a fairly high level.
As for my personal situation, I am a 25 year old graduate still searching for a dream career, but believe strongly in pursuing all possibilities leading to doing something I love, rather than finding an occupation in the category of 'it will do for now', so to speak.
Producing artwork is a true love of mine, and I hope this shows through in my galleries.
