 A British born Bangladeshi, currently working and studying in London- Roksanna Sheikh has been driven by her passion and dedication to Art since early days at nursery. Having been recognised with exceptional talent throughout her schooling years, she was encouraged to take her mere hobby and passion in order to build a business founded by herself with the help and encouragement of friends and family known as ‘SheikhArts’. ‘My Art commissions earn me what I can invest in acrylics, inks and various other art materials. It allows me to paint, to ponder, to create and master in what makes me content. It’s what I enjoy.’
Her inspirations come from her heritage, her religious and cultural background with the blend of her modern British upbringing. ‘Most of my works are a reflection of my complex identity’- The Islamic quotes, the flickers of south Asian designs, the landscape of London that recurs in her work- where she was born, where she was raised and where she currently lives.
