Artist Sarah Buller

I received first class honours in Fine Art and Cultural studies in 1997 from the Kent Institute of Art And Design. Since then I have worked as a book seller for a number of years while making art in my spare time. I am now a full time artist. My work has a dreamlike quality I have always been interested in peoples internal lives and believe that we can understand a lot about ourselves and others by examining our thoughts, when the restrictions of the conscious mind are absent. I try to work without a clear intention and use collage as a surprise element. I am greatly interested in the natural world. As a child I wanted to become a biologist and study snails. I still find myself looking through a magnifying glass getting lost in a microscopic world. (probably something to do with growing up in the seventies and watching TV programs like "Land of the Giants") As you can probably tell I do not find it easy to talk about my work I would rather leave that to the critics.
