Sarah Kingham, born in England, has been a practicing artist since leaving Hornsey Art College. At the same time she has had several parallel careers. Art directing in publishing, film and advertising. Her work has a strong graphic influence and she has and still concentrates on botanical subjects and is completely absorbed by lilies. Her ability to capture the essence of something with her fluidity of line. At present she is working on a commission to do a series of paintings on Soho. She has many projects to tackle not least a planned series of portraits. Her paintings are in collections throughout the world and she has had four exhibitions in London, one in Australia (of her Australian landscape pictures) and several in provincial galleries in Britain.
Brought up by the sculptress Sylva S Kingham in an atmosphere that was either doing or discussing art and literature, she was surrounded by many artists and literary people so much so that her natural talents blossomed. The Kingham household where she grew up had a constant stream of visitors which included artists, actors and literary figures including Piccasso, Pissaro, Stanley Spencer, WW Jacobs, Bernard Miles, Lena Aswell (Lady Simson), John Drinkwater, Lady Ironside, Lord Beaverbrook and countless other characters.
