Sebastien Pochon was born in Rouen, France (The town where Joan of Arc was executed). He came to England in 1997 and studied until 2004. After spending two years in Greece he returned to England and now lives in Bristol.
He has a scientific background and followed most of his studies in the UK.
He graduated in 2004 with a PhD in Laser Physics from Southampton University.
The Artist
For me Art cannot be distinguished from science as technique is involved in the process of making it. I was given my first camera by my godfather as a gift for my first holy communion. I really got into photography when I got my first digital camera that enabled me to experiment and train my technique.
I’m a kind of person who is always on the move. What visually attracts my eyes is usually scenery where movement can be captured.
My photographs reflect my own spontaneity.
Photography is a way to harness an emotion of the moment.
