 Following a Degree in Carpet & Textile Design In 1992 the majority of my career has been spent producing exclusive hand painted designs for all areas of the Home Furnishings Industry. These designs have been purchased and then put into mass production as either wallcoverings, furnishing fabrics, or bedding. In recent years my design skills have taken me in to the Greetings Industry and this is where I work today. Working for many years in the design Industry, meeting people of different design disciplines and Artists has led me to question what differentiates art from design, I concluded that for myself My “Designs” are “Art, My “Art” is “Design”. The works I produce are a combination of all my creativity, generally on canvas, and often mixed media. Inspiration lies in the roots of my career, which has focused on creating images of an essentially “traditional” nature using flowers, leaves and real forms. I describe my work as decorative canvases that can be used to adorn the walls of commercial or domestic interiors.
