Artist Sharon Smith

I was born in a lovely small town in West Sussex and now live and work in Brighton, East Sussex. Having studied art at school and college, life led me in a different direction, but always within a design led industry.

With family now grown up and less dependent, I have more time to spend on what is essentially a hobby that I love - I'm never happier than when I have a paint brush in my hand! My newly rekindled interest in painting started when I moved into a very contemporary house and none of my old pictures seemed to fit with the ultra modern decor. Encouraged by my partner, I started to paint suitable abstract canvasses using vibrant acrylics and I haven't stopped since.

I love the way that the atmosphere in a room can be totally transformed just by changing a picture.
