I live in a small village in north Norfolk and am still finding my way around after moving here a year ago.
I have a compulsion to paint the things that interest me, which are the people I see on the beach, shopping, in cafes, at work, at play, etc., doing what they do. I enjoy life drawing, too, which I find invaluable to enable me to set down a figure accurately. I also accept portrait commissions. To take a break from arms, legs and faces, I, occasionally, will paint a still life or landscape, cats, dogs or buildings, something different.
I have had no formal training, apart from GCE 'A' level, prefering to experiment and develop on my own. My preferred media are oils and charcoal, but, again, I will use whatever media will best illustrate my vision.
I have appeared on television twice, last year winning 'The One Show Summer Exhibition', and, in 2005, competing in the national portrait competition, 'A Brush With Fame', where I finished in the last ten in the Eastern heat.
My work can be found in private collections in Canada, France, South Africa, England, Scotland and America, but as yet in no public collection. I am currently painting work to have on permanent display at the local hospital in King's Lynn.
