Initially introduced and inspired by the strong colour statements of fauvism and the vibrancy of impressionism during her design degree at University of Wales, Newport. Sheila’s personal interpretations have taken her beyond realism and into abstraction. Painting predominately with oils and using strong brushstrokes, together with a continual exploration of the tension between complimentary colours, she investigates the perception of space within the genre of landscapes. Expressing and suggesting form to create a subjective and abstract view. Sheila has until recently been best known for her vibrant and intensely colourful farm animals and has continued her experiments with colour into her abstracts.
