Artist Simon Hucknall

I have had an interest in art in different forms throughout my life. I have a musical background but have always enjoyed design, drawing and painting and used these abilities for designing album covers, stage backdrops etc. I am now concentrating on painting, mainly in acrylics and mixed media.I had never considered exhibiting or selling my work until recently and so far things are going well. I have had five pieces accepted for exhibition at the Great Sheffield Art Show and have received a number of commissions. My art is inspired from many influences and I paint in a variety of different styles. I enjoy bright bold colours and hope many of my pieces will raise a smile from the viewer. There are also more abstract pieces which I hope portray the emotion I was feeling as I was painting. If I can elicit an emotion from the viewer then I think that is a job well done.
