Artist Simona Schirru

I was born in Sardinia, a beautiful Italian island. In 1998 I moved to the UK to complete my studies in English Literature and in 2001 I moved to Scotland, falling in love with Glasgow where I currently live and work. My interest in photography as an everlasting record of events and as a way of silent storytelling took me to the Glasgow Metropolitan College where I completed my degree in Photography and Digital Imaging. During my studies and for a number of years I have been working freelance, gaining valuable experience in various areas of photography both in studio and location. I am deeply interested in macro and abstract photography because of the unlimited possibilities and potential in seeing what is missed by the human eye.
