 Sophy Layzell mainly paints in acrylic on canvas and has worked as a commercial artist in the past, drawing maps, and designing rubber stamps, but is mainly known locally, under her married name Layzell, for her work in Youth Theatre!
As an emerging artist she has only recently exhibited her paintings at Hilltop Barn and the Meeting House Summer exhibition and enjoys working on improvised collaborative pieces with other artists.
She ran BIG DRAW workshops at Minehead, Yeovil and Bridgwater libraries in Autumn 2009 and art workshops in The Shed@the Yellow House for 9-13 year olds.
In Feb 2010 she set up MADD an independant part-time performing arts school combining Music, Art, Dance and Drama. She hope this will develop into being one of the most creative courses locally where Art becomes an integral part of the process of devising and performing.
